Rice seedlings
Kumihama Tenman Shrine
The traditional "Shobu Taue" (iris rice planting) ceremony, a prayer for a bountiful harvest, was held at Tenman Shrine in Ichinono, Kumihama-cho, Kyotango City, on the 5th, the day of the Tango no Sekku (Boys' Festival). Boys energetically threw iris leaves, which are used to represent rice seedlings.
