Mount Hanareko, which is connected to the mainland, floats in the lake, and on the lakeside are Okaichigo Tomb and Hanareko Park, where a diverse ecosystem can be seen, including Japanese crucian carp and grass carp over one meter in length. There are walking paths and benches to rest on. In spring, cherry blossoms decorate the lakeside, attracting many visitors. The lakeside has also been selected as one of Kyoto's 1 Natural Wonders.
