Iwayaji
This ancient temple is said to have been built in the Nara period. Its main deity is Acala, and it is said to have been founded by Gyoki. Commonly known as "O-Fudo-san," the temple is home to paintings registered as tangible cultural properties by Kyoto Prefecture, including the "Shaka Jurokuzenzozo," one of the oldest examples in the Tango region dating back to the Kamakura period. In addition, the temple also houses a 400-year-old picture scroll depicting the legend of the slaying of the demons of Mt. Oe, which is open to the public every year on August 8th.
