Hosokawa Gracia Monument

Tama, the daughter of Akechi Mitsuhide who married Hosokawa Tadaoki, became the daughter of a traitor after the Honnoji Incident and was imprisoned in the mountains far from Miyazu, where her castle was located. This is Midono, where this monument stands. Influenced by her maid, Kiyohara Maria, who accompanied her at this time, she began to seek salvation in Christianity, and was later baptized and given the name "Gracia (God's Grace)."

(Note) Your navigation system may direct you to Prefectural Route 57 to get to the monument, but it is a narrow road where passing other vehicles is difficult. Please use Prefectural Route 654.
