Kotohiki is a sandstorm
Kotobikihama Singing Sand Cultural Center
This is an experience-based facility where you can learn all about singing sand. Kotobiki Beach, which faces the Sea of Japan, is where various objects from all over the world are washed ashore by ocean currents. These washed ashore objects tell the story of the marine environment. You can see sand, quartz, and tiny shells under a microscope. Sand doesn't make any sound when it's wet, but at the cultural center's experience corner you can enjoy the sound of singing sand regardless of the weather.
